Wandoga Residents Welcomed Habema’s Patrol Team Distributing Basic Necessities

Radar Nusantara, Sugapa Intan Jaya, MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Saturday, 2 November 2024, the 509 Task Forces Patrol Team secured the Wandoga Village, Sugapa District, and distributed packages of basic necessities to the residents at the patrol route.

On the orders of the 509 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the Bilogai Post led by First Lieutenant Abdian has planned and prepared for Patrol and Distribution in the Wandoga Village. This time, the Soldiers used the time to interact and communicate with the residents to discover local developments. The presence of the Soldiers was welcomed happily by the residents who had the opportunity to meet face to face, showing the strong sense of unity and collaboration in the community.

By prioritizing security during activities, harmonious communication between the Soldiers and the residents is increasingly being established, and the initiative is being used to distribute the basic necessities. After receiving the Soldiers ‘ free packages, the residents’ joy was immediately visible from their broad smiles and laughter. Their gratitude was palpable, with one of them, Mrs. Marta Sondegau, expressing her impression, “Praise God, thank you, Commander 509. God bless.”

Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to distribute basic necessities in the Wandoga Village. His words: ‘The 509 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to provide services for the basic necessities of the community to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.’ This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development.
