The Excitement Of The Indonesian Flag Raising And Carnival By Habema And The Sinak Community

Radar Nusantara, Sinak Puncak, –Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, 22 August 2024, the 323 Task Forces, especially the Sinak Post led by Major Firman Permana, secured the Yauria Village, Sinak District. During the security activities in the area, the Soldiers with the Sinak Community carried out the Carnival and Flags Raising at Sion Hill, Sinak District, to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

In his emphasis on the Soldiers, Commander of the 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, he conveyed the importance of the Task Forces’ attention to the community’s basic needs around the Post. Due to this emphasis, Major Firman has conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with Community Figures of the District since the beginning of August, especially regarding the plan to commemorate Independence Day. The results of the Komsos showed that it was agreed that the series of commemorations would be applied to various activities, including the Carnival and Flags Raising at Sion Hill.

Major Firman, in his opening remarks, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of the Community at the activity on Thursday morning. The Soldiers, along with all parties and residents of the Sinak District, led the Carnival and Flags Raising at Sion Hill. Also present were Security Personnel (TNI and Police) on duty in the Sinak area, State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and Teachers of the Sinak District, School Students, and residents of Sinak from various backgrounds. The active involvement of all these participants not only enlivened the activity but also made everyone feel a part of this significant event. After the series of activities were completed, one of the community members, Mr. Natanius Telenggeng said “Thank you Commander 323. We are happy to be able to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence this year with the Carnival and Flags Raising. God bless”.

Upon receiving the program report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, expressed his pride, saying, “The initiative of the 323 Task Forces to commemorate the 79th Independence Day with the Sinak community is a shining example of the implementation of the results of the inclusive social communication with all parties to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This positive response from the military leadership not only reassures the event’s success but also underscores its significant and positive impact on the community, fostering a sense of pride and achievement.
