Local People Supported The TNI Task Forces To Secure The Area Of Sugapa Pasar Pagi

Radar Nusantara, Sugapa, Intan Jaya, – The Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad is part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, which is conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Monday, 5 August 2024, the 509 Task Forces Patrol Team held the areal security of the Sugapa Pasar Pagi in the Bilogai Village, Sugapa District. Local people supported this activity, and the whole process ran well.

Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, emphasized that Soldiers should focus on every effort to create a safe and peaceful situation in Papua. Therefore, that Monday, the Soldiers of Bilogai Post led by First Lieutenant Abdian had planned for an areal security program by checking vehicles entering and exiting the area of Sugapa Pasar Pagi. In the context of synergy between the TNI and local stakeholders, 1LT Abdian took advantage of the time to conduct area security by inviting local community leaders to participate.

Eventually, the program was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents, coordinated by a local community leaders, Mr. Lukas Sondegau. The synergy between the community and the TNI Task Forces in securing this area is carried out by checking every vehicle entering and exiting the area of Sugapa Pasar Pagi. “We are happy that the TNI collaborates with the people to secure the Sugapa Pasar Pagi. Papua is safe,” said Mr. Lukas Sondegau, expressing his satisfaction with the improved security situation after the activity.
